This year, celebrate Pride with Sanctuary’s Out and Proud Vendor Market, June 12th from 10 AM to 6 PM. Sanctuary Pittsburgh will be hosting a vendor fair for local artists and artisans who identify as LGBTQ+ and our allies to market their wares in the parklet on Butler, across the street from Sanctuary Pittsburgh. This event is a celebration of Pittsburgh’s queer community and our allies, and a chance to shine a light on Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ+ artists and entrepreneurs.
Sanctuary’s ambition is to lift marginalized voices and foster a safe space for our LGBTQ+ community. We hope to be part of the change we want to see, and to create a safe and inviting place, metaphorically and literally, for our neighbors to enjoy. We’re proud of who we are and how far we’ve come, and we want to celebrate with the community that we love. This pride month is going to be a welcome bright spot for the LGBTQ+ community, and we want to bring the energy, respect, and excitement we know it deserves. June of 2020 should have been the 50th anniversary celebration of the first Gay Pride March, so we’re going to crank the pride up to 11 this year and make up for what we’ve missed.
