Zia was born and raised in Las Vegas where she has studied various dance styles from the age of 4. She moved to Pittsburgh in 2017 to continue her dance education at Point Park University. Zia has practiced elements of yoga almost all her life alongside her dance training but really began to get serious about it a few years ago. She received her yoga teacher training from School Yoga Institute in Peru where she studied yoga philosophy, shamanism, and yoga anatomy. After receiving her certification she co-founded the Yoga Club at Point Park and enjoys teaching people from all walks of life. In her classes, she likes to bring in elements of yogic philosophy while also focusing on helping her students find proper alignment and using the practice to help heal and strengthen the body. She incorporates much of her dance training to create unique and dynamic flows. Zia is passionate about helping others deepen their practice both physically and mentally.
